Modern Elegance-Couple's Summer Wedding at Hotel X Toronto

Joyful, modern, elegant and so full of emotion. These are just few of the many words that would describe Morgan and Alex’s summer wedding at Hotel X Toronto. We couldn’t have been more honoured to photograph such a meaningful day for not only these two best friends, but for their families. Friendship that spans many years, this wedding day was a celebration of family friends officially becoming family!

We originally spoke to Morgan about their wedding plans at the beginning of 2023. We loved her vision for their wedding day - an elegant celebration focused on their families, friends and each other. She knew the day would be a quick blur so she wanted to maximize the time with her loved ones. One way she knew that would occur is by having all the events in close proximity and Hotel X Toronto was the ideal location and look to fit her vision. From getting ready to having very emotional first looks with her bridesmaids, dad, her grandparents and finally her groom-to-be, Alex, Morgan was so conscious of making memories with those she loved all day long.

Their wedding ceremony took place on Hotel X’s High Park Terrace which has clear sight lines of our beautiful Lake Ontario. Her choice of floral installations with white flowers and lots of greenery perfectly offset the blue background of the lake.

We loved her vision of taking advantage of all the aspects of getting married in a hotel, from having photos in Hotel X’s Valerie bar to the ever popular elevator shots! We finished the day feeling so appreciative for such an incredible couple who love wholeheartedly! Morgan and Alex’s wedding day will be one we will remember for a long time to come!

An Effortlessly Chic Summer Wedding at The Toronto Hunt

Authentic, emotive and meaningful. Ashleigh and Cliff’s wedding day at the stunning Toronto Hunt was so intentional and full of memories. Right down to the smallest details, these two thought of each other, their families and how to make their wedding authentically their own.

We had the chance to meet Ashleigh and Cliff at their friend’s wedding in 2021. Belonging to the funnest group of friends, we knew from our first meeting to discuss their wedding plans that their day would be full of laughs and special moments! However, what we didn’t know was the beautiful connection they shared with their parents and their siblings and how they wanted to include all their loved ones into their planning and special day. Being from close families ourselves, Junilo and I really appreciated witnessing the family bond they share and their desire to make their day not just about themselves, but also about their loved ones.

One of our favourite aspects of the day was their very personal private ceremony with just their parents present before the exchanging of their vows and rings in front of their guests. 100% emotional and real-they absorbed what the day was before celebrating it with their guests. There were more than a few tears in Toronto Hunt’s private room!!

Sharing a love for the outdoors and the summer’s greenery, they chose to celebrate their wedding at the beautiful Toronto Hunt. Despite the morning’s severe thunderstorms forecast, the sun shone brightly just as the wedding day began! Toronto Hunt Club’s stunning course and lawn overlooking Lake Ontario couldn’t have been more pristine!

We wish these two nothing but happiness in all the beautiful life steps they will take together!!!

Unforgettable Summer Wedding at Toronto Golf Club

One of the very memorable events from our summer wedding season was Heather and Ken’s wedding at the stunning Toronto Golf Club. We first spoke to Heather about their wedding photography at the beginning of the year. They had clear in their mind as to what they wanted for their wedding celebrations-an intimate wedding ceremony and dinner with immediate family in early summer and a big wedding bash with all their extended family and friends in August at Toronto Golf Club. We photographed both their intimate wedding in June at the glamorous Oretta restaurant in downtown Toronto and their day at Toronto Golf Club and couldn’t have been more moved by how Heather and Ken made their wedding day(s) plans their own. They didn’t worry about tradition or what their wedding day ‘should be’; instead they focused on their families and celebrating such a huge life step after 12 years together!!

Their wedding reception began with family photos in front of Toronto Golf Club’s stunning Clubhouse and then we whisked them away to take advantage of Toronto Golf Club’s stunning grounds around the Clubhouse. Heather wore a beautiful summer organza wedding gown by the incredible designer, Theia Couture. After mingling with guests during a very happy cocktail hour, which felt like a huge reunion of friends and family and the first wedding putting contest we’ve ever photographed (!!) they were welcomed to dinner in Toronto Golf Club’s beautiful dining room. The food, wine and company made for such a memorable evening!

After the very heartfelt speeches of their parents and close friends, it was time to get the party started!!! It began with Heather and Ken’s first dance and by the end of it, everyone was on the dance floor!!! They danced the night away with their guests under the stars which felt like a movie moment!!! We couldn’t be happier that our sweet couple were finally were able to be reunited with all the friends and family to celebrate their happy wedding together!!!

Intimate weddings are here to stay!

We are officially full swing into 2022 and so full of appreciation and gratitude for all our couples who resiliently pivoted and re-pivoted during the past two years. There is no doubt that we have all come out of this with lessons learned.

One thing that has really stuck out to Junilo and I is the beautiful and intimate celebrations we have had the honour to be a part of. Due to changing restrictions, couples had to make an endless amount of changes and rethink their plans with sometimes only weeks or days notice! However, the joyous wedding celebrations that came out of the unexpected were absolutely unforgettable! It has been a true testament to the fact that love has not been cancelled!!

With a measure of uncertainty still weighing on many couples’ minds, intimate celebrations have become the new norm. Having fewer guests, does not mean that couples have to sacrifice style or elegance by any means! This early spring fine art wedding photography workshop in Toronto’s stylish Archive Studios is testament to this! A truly elegant and timeless wedding style photographed by yours truly :)) We finished the day feeling incredibly inspired for the 2022 wedding season!!!
