An Elegant, Joyful and Soulful Summer Wedding In Atlanta, Georgia

It’s hard to know even where to begin with Joel and Veronique. They’re two of the cutest humans we have had the privilege of getting to know. Our connection with Veronique goes all the way to Zaragoza, Spain, believe it or not! During her sister’s year abroad teaching English, Veronique came for a visit. As native English speakers are few and far between in Zaragoza, we were naturally ecstatic to catch up on everything North American, lol! We did so much laughing with her and her sister in the week she visited. Vee is full of life and so sweet and together with her sister the two are downright hilarious! Fast forward two years later and we had a happy phone call from Vee that she was going to be a Mrs! Being back home in Canada meant we HAD to be a part of her special day.

Originally both from Boston, Joel and Vee had a lot in common right from the beginning of their relationship. In fact, a mutual friend in Atlanta introduced them because she knew that these two New Englanders had to meet each other ;) *We might add that being HUGE Patriots fans in Falcon territory definitely could have been a factor, lol. It is just crazy how their life stories have so many similarities; fellow Bostonians, both families moved South after they finished high school, both studied health sciences, both work in health services, dancing is both their ‘thing’ and they share a love of eating! Seriously, they were meant to be!!

We began the day at the gorgeous Chateau Elan, Winery and Spa just outside the greater Atlanta area. Our jaws literally dropped when doing research; to say Chateau Elan is an impressive venue would be an understatement. It’s wines, award-winning restaurants and vibe make it so popular in the Southeast that even Usher celebrated his 2008 nuptials there! The morning of the wedding we arrived as the girls were getting ready, eating brunch and enjoying bubbly. The general feeling was so calm; no nerves nor last minute emergencies, it was just a relaxed morning with Vee and her girls. After having her mama and sister help her with the finishing touches, she did a ‘reveal’ with her bridesmaids. The reaction of her girls in the photos pretty much says it all; the room was full of love and support. Her daddy was also present, patiently waiting in the resort foyer to see his little girl. It was an unforgettable moment between a proud dad and his daughter.

Meanwhile, Lindsay had travelled to where Joel and his boys were getting ready. They were all dressed and ready for showtime! They all agreed there was no way they were going to get through without getting food. So we did what needed to be done; we headed to Chipotle to get these boys fed! We then travelled to the wedding venue, The Atrium; a beautiful, serene, intimate location in the middle of busy Atlanta. By this point, Junilo and the girls had arrived; we spent time before the ceremony taking photos of the boys and some final prep photos before the big ceremony! The guests had arrived and it was time to get these two married. After a meaningful and heartfelt ceremony by a close family friend, Vee and Joel exchanged their promises to one another. Their happiness was contagious; this moment had been in the making for so long!

We then moved to the beautiful neoclassical-style garden for the family and bridal photographs. We all laughed, joked and even heard some valuable advice from their loving families. Afterwards, it was time to party!!! As both Joel and Veronique love to dance, they had a few special moves for their entrance and their first dance. The golden light shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows, lighting up the dance floor and the newlyweds. After an amazing dinner it was time for the Mr and Mrs to celebrate with their friends and that they did! They danced and had the time of their lives.

We can’t wait till the next time we get to see these two; to relive their wedding day, share their love for life (and maybe cheer on the Patriots) ;) xoxo
